These are the residential fire pit guidelines we are required to follow. Please make sure that your firepits meet the guidelines. The board will be doing another walk around before the end of the season and sending specific deficiency letters to all Licensees for any fire pits not following these guidelines. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Be Bear Safe<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We are disappointed to hear that the Fish and Wildlife Officers were forced to euthanize the bear that was seen around the Nordegg Recreation Association campground. We are taking this opportunity to remind all of our members and guests that we share this space with the wildlife and we need to make sure that we remove any attractants for bears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Make sure that you safely dispose of garbage and keep pets safe. Here are a couple of suggestions from our local District Fish and Wildlife Officer regarding keeping ourselves Bear Safe.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First step, anything with food or scent attractant needs to be stored indoors\/shed. If the bears attempt to get into something and are not rewarded there is no motivation for them to come back. Also \u2013 if bears are met with a negative experience when coming into conflict with people, they will more likely steer clear of people. The best thing for any wild animal is to remain that way \u2013 wild.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you come into contact with the bears, we encourage you to scare them off from a safe position. An easy way to do this is noise from indoors (bang pots and pans, air horns, yelling, etc.), or a lot of vehicles have key fobs that have an alarm button that would allow you to turn your car alarm on from inside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second step \u2013 If you see any bears, or notice that they had been by through the night \u2013 please let Aaron Archibald know (cell phone # is below), but if it is urgent or you need to get in touch with an Officer to report this sort of incident or a resource related incident please call the&nbsp;<strong>Report-A-Poacher hotline @&nbsp;<a href=\"tel:1-800-642-3800\">1-800-642-3800<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We would like to avoid the bears becoming conditioned and associate humans with a food source because the end result of that scenario is generally unfortunate as we will not move human safety risks.&nbsp; I am not opposed to setting a trap, and will do so if need be. After 14 days, RV\u2019s must be moved off the campground for a minimum of 3 days. Members are responsible for collecting fees from their guests and sending the payment to the Association by e-transfer at:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>treasurer@nordeggrecreationassociation.ca<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>or by cheque payable and mailed to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Nordegg Recreation Association<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PO Box 3008<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beaumont PO Main, AB, T4X 1K8<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"inherit-container-width wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td>Members<\/td><td>$20\/Night<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Non-Members\/Guests<\/td><td>$30\/Night<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Fees can be paid by e-transfer to&nbsp;Treasurer@NordeggRecreationAssociation.ca<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Reminder for members using the association honey wagon.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Members who use the association honey wagon are reminded that they are responsible to rinse the honey wagon after use and park it off to the side so that other trailers can be pulled in once you&#8217;ve finished dumping.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Quads\/Bikes\/ATVs\/Golf Carts&nbsp;&#8211; Underage Drivers and Helmets reminders.&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A reminder for all our members that operation of Quads\/Bikes\/ATVs\/Golf Carts should be limited to 9 AM &#8211; 9 PM (unless entering our exiting the campground)&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Nordegg Recreation Association Campground is CONSIDERED PUBLIC LAND.&nbsp; It is NOT your own property and you are NOT EXEMPT from compliance with the Alberta Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Regulations including safety helmets as follows:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A person who is less than 14 years old shall not drive an off-highway vehicle on public property unless (a) the person is supervised by a person who is occupying the passenger seat on the off-highway vehicle or is in or on a vehicle that is travelling in close proximity to the OHV, and (b) the person supervising is 18 years old or older.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of&nbsp;May 15, 2017, CSA-compliant helmets must be worn by OHV users when riding on public land. Public land means Crown land, including areas that have been designated for public OHV use, public roadway and highway rights-of-way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When helmets are required<\/strong><br>Helmets are required for anyone driving, operating, riding in or on, or being towed by, an OHV. An OHV is any motorized vehicle built for cross-country travel, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>dirt bikes, motorcycles, mini-bikes and related 2-wheel vehicles<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>all-terrain vehicles (ATVs)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>utility terrain vehicles<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>miniature motor vehicles<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>amphibious vehicles<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>snow vehicles, including snowmobiles and snow bikes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Exemptions<\/strong><br>Helmets are not required when using an OHV:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>on your own property<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>on private property with permission of the owner<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>on First Nations Reserve or Metis Settlement lands<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>when performing farm and\/or ranch work<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>if you wear a turban as a member of the Sikh faith, or have received an exemption from Alberta Transportation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Helmets are not required in vehicles that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>have manufacturer installed rollover protective structures and seat belts, which have not been modified and are being properly worn<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>meet standards for motor vehicles designed for use on a roadway and has seat belts.
